Awaji Yumebutai

13.08.2024

Some images from the visit to Yumebutai. Located on Awaji Island in Japan, Yumebutai is a complex comprising a convention centre, hotel, gardens and shops in Awaji, built following the 1995 Kōbe earthquake. All the architecture was designed by Tadao Ando.

Yumebutai is the Japanese translation of ‘dream stage’. The terraced gardens designed by Tadao Ando are composed of 100 flower beds.

The Grand Nikko Hotel is also home to the Cappella di Mare marine chapel designed by Tadao Ando.

Yumebutai was a fascinating visit. However, it is probably a more pleasant place to visit outside of the August heat!
